(or a contemporary retelling of Eugene O’Neill’s The Hairy Ape)
by Eugene O’Neill with new translations by Lorenzo Sariñana
The LIDA Project at HERE Arts Center (New York City, NY)
May 1-3, 2015
Direction / Co-Projection Design (with Steven J. Deidel)
This work was a re-interpretation of The LIDA Project’s 2013 production of the Eugene O’Neill classic, The Hairy Ape. Performed for a limited engagement at HERE Arts Center this work builds upon prior visual and projection experiments. This classic expressionist work is now presented as a one-man / hyper-media performance bringing to the front the issues of immigration, class structure, and industrialism.
